trail running - mountain running series: alta/ brighton ridge peaks - September 15, 2026

This is a really fun after-work peak loop! We will start at 4:30PM. We'll head up Grizzly Gulch to Twin Lakes Pass, then follow the ridge south to tag Patsy Marley, Wolverine, and Tuscarora Peaks. We'll descend from Catherine's Pass and run back to the cars on established trails.

Much of the ridge follows a somewhat established trail, but expect steep, rocky, and unmaintained sections.

This will be no-drop, but participants should be comfortable running flats and downhills at a moderate pace and hiking uphill at a reasonably quick pace over the listed distance and elevation gain.

Bring sufficient water, nutrition, and a headlamp!

Mountain Running Series outings are for people interested in building fitness, durability, and community for trail races, peakbagging, fastpacking, scrambling, mountaineering, etc. Expect steady movement, limited breaks, and a mix of running and fast hiking depending on terrain. These are not beginner/no-drop social runs unless specifically stated.
