road bike: upper weber canyon (oakley diner to 1000 peaks ranch) - September 5, 2026

Upper Weber Canyon offers a low-traffic road cycling route along Weber Canyon Road (pavement), stretching 11.7 miles one-way to the turn off for Smith and Morehouse Reservoir (23.4 roundtrip). The ride features gentle, sustained climbing, scenic mountain views, and good wildlife spotting along the Weber river (birds of prey and elk).

If the weather is damp, we will still ride. If the rain is pouring hard, we may cancel. Check this post morning of for last minute cancellation. Dress for cool weather.

We will meet and park at the Oakley City Hall. Park in the dirt lot on the east side of the building. Do not park at Oakley Diner.

Post ride, consider joining us for lunch/drinks at Oakley Diner.

Please RSVP via EMAIL so I can anticipate your participation. All paces welcome and we will likely ride as a group at a conversational pace. Road and gravel bikes welcome. For the sake of pacing together, please no mountain bikes.
