snowbowl flagstaff: resort ski and backcountry alpine ski tour - February 17, 2027

Join WMC for two days of skiing at and around Snowbowl resort in Flagstaff Arizona with the goal of bagging backcountry peaks Agassiz and Humphreys (high point of Arizona).

Super early season purchase price can be as low as $9.00 per day (with $10 resort credit) but goes up during the season and with demand. $10 resort credit only applies to online advanced purchases.

For resort skiing, I prefer blacks and double blacks (expert runs). Resort skiing will also be used to access the backcountry gate from the upper gondola.

Backcountry skiing requires avalanche rescue gear (beacon, shovel, and probe) and knowledge of use. Travel into the backcountry will depend on weather, snow, and avalanche conditions (https://kachinapeaks.org/). Participants need to have knowledge and experience in assessing hazards and risks of backcountry skiing. If I have not backcountry skied with you, please include details such as uphill ability, downhill ability, and avalanche and emergency education.

Driving to and from Flagstaff will likely be in either my RV (travel with amenities but costly in gas) or my Honda EV (save on gas expenses) and we may arrange to spend more than one day driving with a stop halfway to enjoy other amenities of southern Utah and northern Arizona. Where we stay in Flagstaff will depend on the group and may include a hotel in Flagstaff or look for free RV parking in or near town. Please tell me your preferences.
