ice climbing training for mountaineering (multi-pitch) #1 - January 15, 2027
We will have IFMGA certified instructors from the School for International Expedition Training (nonprofit organization) to practice ice climbing skills for mountaineering. This training would be beneficial for those who are interested in mountaineering that involves an ice climbing section, and/or high-altitude mountaineering. This is also a great refresher for experienced ice climbers and mountaineers. Pre-requisites: Previous ice climbing experience (minimum top-roping) and knowledge and skills of multi-pitching (ice or rock). The training location will be selected when it gets closer. Registration is required. $250 per person for a group of 3 climbers. No tax. WMC members only. Priority will be given to those who will participate in the 2027 Bolivia Expedition. Limit 3 per group (Depending on the availability of instructors, we may be able to have one to two groups). There are two multi-pitch ice climbing training sessions on 1/15 and 1/29. But those two sessions are independent each other. A climber may sign up for one of or both of the sessions. Registrants will receive more detailed info including gear list.
