trail run - sunset peak from alta - August 2, 2026

Going to start at Goldminer's daughter lodge parking and take the Albion basin trail up to Catherine's pass and sunset peak, which should be around 7.5 miles out and back with 2,000' vertical. Pending how we are all feeling, anyone willing can join me/others for a second lap up to the peak once we reach the cars.

I set the pace as moderate, which means brisk hiking up and running down. Nobody is going to be left behind, but fast people are welcome to run ahead if they would like.

After the one or two laps, I will be lounging up there for a bit if you want to bring any drinks/snacks/chairs to hang. I will plan to bring some sparkling waters to share.
