nordic ski tour: north fork park (eden valley) - December 31, 2026
Free-heel (XC) skiing. New Year's Eve, weekday trip. Nordic is no longer Alpine's nerdy cousin- get your 'Skate' (or 'Classic') on! The Yurt will not be open (No gear rentals). There are 20 km of trails through aspen and sage overlooking the upper valley, groomed for skate, classic, and snowshoeing by a dedicated team of volunteers. The purpose of this trip is to familiarize the WMC with this venue. Participants will explore the trails at their own pace and regroup at the parking lot. This is not a backcountry trip. Avalanche gear is not required. Approximately 10:30 am to 5:00 pm including driving time. Daily trail passes ($10- 20) can be purchased on-line or you can use a TUNA season pass. My carpool may be full. I can facilitate a 2nd carpool. It is a 1 hour drive from SLC. Please register by 5 PM, Dec. 29th. Snowshoers welcome.
