mixed & alpine climb training for mountaineering - November 21, 2026
We will have IFMGA certified instructors from the School for International Expedition Training (nonprofit organization) to learn about mixed climbing skills for mountaineering. This training would be beneficial for those who are interested in, for example, Cascade mountains, Bolivian volcanoes, and/or Mexican volcanoes. The topics that will be covered include, but not limited to, safety and strategies in climbing and scrambling with snow and rocks, snow climbing, rock scrambling, rope work in mixed slopes, etc - more topics will be added depending on participants' interests. The training location will be selected when it gets closer. Registration is required. $133.33 per person. No tax. WMC members only. Limit 6 per group (Depending on the availability of instructors, we will have one to three groups). If we have more than one groups, each group will have a specific focus (e.g. a Cascade group, Bolivia/Mexico group, beginner - group, etc.). The first priority will be given to those who have registered for the 2027 Bolivia Expedition. Registrants will receive more detailed info including gear list.
