caving neffs cave - rock climb - October 18, 2026

Note: This is not a rock climbing activity but there is no caving category on the calendar and rock climbing is the next closest thing.

Plunge into Neffs Cave with us. As the 15th deepest cave in the United States, this absolute beast drops over 1,000 feet into the earth. We'll be following the historic footsteps of Wasatch Mountain Club members who conquered its depths back in 1953.

Expect an intense, 10 - 14 hour journey involving heavy rappelling and ascending in complete, pitch-black darkness. The climb back out is very strenuous and requires a high level of endurance.

Depending on your background, a few mandatory pre-trip training sessions may be required.

Specialized caving gear is required. We might have loaners available, so don't let this stop you from inquiring.
