Midweek hikes are a pleasant way to avoid crowds and meet new people. The trails around Jacks Mountain allow for a variety of ways to reach the summit. I choose to meander to the west from the trailhead parking and obtain the ridge above the decorative H. Hiking along the ridge provides stunning views of the valley and adjacent peaks.This approach allowed time for casual conversation before hitting the steeper sections to the summit. After a short break on top Dave, Frank, Danielle and I headed down back to the trailhead with a minor variation to our cars. A relaxing and fun morning.
