Trip Report: Ice climb Bridal Veil apron/stairway

On Friday the 18th we had six climbers 5 members and a friend of mine who helped with setting things up. We secured three routes on the Apron to Bridal Veil Stairway to heaven. We had two members who had never climbed vertical ice, and we had two others who did their first lead ice climbs. We set up ropes and every one had plenty of opportunities to do laps on top rope. On Saturday we had 9 members and four friends, two of which I invited to help set up ropes and help with the new climbers. Two members and two friends climbed ice for the first time, and we had four people lead ice. Safety was our priority, and there were no incidents. We had a bit of a scare on Friday when a pillar of ice from up on the stairway separated, and we all hugged the apron, but only a few fragments of ice made it to where we were, and no one was hit or harmed. On Saturday we had lunch at Mama Chu's and I felt that every one had a great time.
