| North Parleys Ridge to Spring Canyon Overlook November 18, 2017 Organized by Julie Kilgore // Trip report by Deb Baldwin // Photos by Akiko Kamimura We hiked through private lands (with permission) east of Foothill Boulevard, ascending steeply to a ridgeline that overlooks Spring Canyon--privately owned by the Huntsmans. It was a cold clear day, sunny, but with the occasional sting of freezing wind. At first, we crunched through frozen ground, then a light dusting of snow, and then, as we neared the top, several inches of powdery snow. It was a reminder that we need to start wearing or packing gaiters, micro-spikes, dry socks, and extra layers! During our 2645-foot, 4.6 mile climb, we were treated to clear views of the valley and surrounding peaks and ridges. Akiko's photos do justice to the gorgeous day.
