| Twelve aspiring backpackers showed up to our beginner backpacking workshop led by Jen Baker and myself, excited to hone their backcountry prowess and acquire some new skills. We had planned to hold the event in my backyard, but the dreary rainy day led us into the garage instead. We had several informal discussions with input from a couple other experienced backpackers. There is a lot of excitement about backpacking in the club, but we need more organizers stepping up to meet the demand.
