| No one showed up, not the first. No worries though because I took the hike yesterday. Yup! Yesterday. I found the hike on All Trails and I drove to it. It is mellow almost flat trail, little elevation gain . The trailhead starts at the end of Rose Canyon Rd by Harriman. The trail had 1/2 to 1 inch snow but just hiking shoes were enough for a secure track. It is just 4 miles round trip and you can either walk the trail or the road , they both run parallel if each other. Picnic tables can be seen on the side of the trail and many horse tying posts as I notices many hoofs tracks on the trail. A little creek no more than 2 feet wide runs along the trail. I saw 3 deers and two cute tiny black mouses running under snow tunnels as there were some opening along the tunnels and I could see them run for their lives when they heard me. Birds could be heard in these wooded area of oaks and pine trees. It is a perfect little trail for an evening or morning running exercise or an healthy mellow walk. |
