Mt Olympus Day Hike

Four of us, (Steve, Greg, Thomas and Eve) assembled for a hike up Mt Olympus on the day after Thanksgiving. This was a suitably "sturdy" hike to work off that turkey dinner. Amusingly, the only person on the trip who had not done the route before was the organizer. Greg has the record for the most number of previous ascents, numbering more than 10.
The first 3600' of this climb is on trail which progresses from pleasant, well-graded switchbacks to a more direct walk straight up a rocky creekbed-like trail for the last half of the climb to the saddle overlooking Heughs Creek Canyon. Although a little tedious, this trail is still nicer than Bell Canyon. After a brief food stop at the saddle we proceeded up the last 500' fun scramble to the summit. We hung out on the summit for a more major refuel and enjoyed the good views in all directions. This was a good time of year to do this hike as it was cool and uncrowded. It was another great day in the mountains
