| This trip to Peru was a wonderful mixture of doing humanitarian work while developing climbing routes and during breaks from doing 2026 Project 5 work I attempted several alpine routes in the tallest mountains in the tropical zone of earth. The following is an outline of a month-long expedition to Peru in 2026. Table 1 2026 Climb with a Purpose Expedition to Peru outline PartDescription 1Acclimatize in Marcara (2764m)- Just north of Huaraz capital of the Ancash District and prepare to travel to Huachucocha to develop routes for Father Alisseo's Humanitarian Alpine Chalet Project. 2Develop climbing routes in Huachucocha (4300m) 3Attempt Pico Mateo a minor peak (5150 m) on the Contrahierbas Massive 4Explore Trancabamba near Tinco, Peru for future Humanitarian Climbing Route Development projects 5Visit the beautiful Ishinca Valley and attempt Nevado Ishinca (5340m). 6Climb Ulta Chico 7Travel to visit the NGO Peru Hope's Jayanca Facility and tour the humanitarian projects they are working on and archeological sites in this iconic ancient historical region. 8Visit the 7 turquoise Pools of Mayascon to see if this area would be suitable for a humanitarian climbing route development project. It was fantastic. |
