We met at Vivian Park on Saturday afternoon and carpooled up to the put in right below Deer Creek Dam. We had 8 participants - 3 WMC members, and 5 people who were either not current members or brand new to club activities. The weather was absolutely beautiful. It was sunny in the 70's at the ramp, and probably 60's on the water, and I think we all felt pretty warm after getting our gear ready to go on the water.

The river ran at about 280 cfs; -lower than normal for this time of year, but plenty to run the river successfully and have fun with some bumps. There were 5 of us on paddlboards, 1 in a whitewater kayak, and 2 on sit on top kayaks, and well had a blast! Plenty of splashes from small waves, lots of times nearly falling in the water, but miraculously nobody fell in the river or flipped their kayaks. I personally was a lot more cautious than I normally would be because the water was so cold. We saw a musk rat, a possible beaver, lots of water fowl, and lots of fly fisherman.

Overall I'd say it was a super successful, fun, entertaining activity with most of us being grateful and happy to be on the water earlier in the season after an exceptionally low snow year.
