| Joslin H, Reid G, Jimmy S, and Katie F ventured on a 15+ mile hike/run in the Uinta Mountains on October 24, starting at the Highline Trail-Hayden Pass Trailhead and circling around the Naturalist Basin. Turns out much of the trail is too rocky to run, but we moved along at a steady clip and had plenty of breath even above 10k feet to practice our exaggerated French accents as Sebastian the crab. We decided a better name for "LeConte Lake" is "Croissant Lake", and so it is. Other gorgeous lakes we visited included: Blue, Faxon, Shaler, and Jordan. Naturalist Basin is always a treat, but on a day with new snow, crystalline blue skies, and no one else around except for some happy brook trout, that's something to write in the Rambler about! :) |
