white water rafting-westwater canyon-colorado river - July 2, 2026

I have canceled this as a club trip due to low water and increased danger. Have consulted many current sources saying taking rafts down isn't a wise idea at current water levels. Will turn the trip private. Most likely only taking down small craft (white water kayak/ducky) as recommended by the lead BLM ranger in Moab. I have a few spots left for experienced Westwater clubbers who understand the risk at this level. I need to hear from you by May 14th. A decision as to what I am going to do with the permits will be made June 15th after assessing current water flows. I am personally off the trip because I am fairly confident I would most likely go for a swim while being the passenger on the oar rig. My captains of thirty years and with many floats down Westwater are say "there is always next year." With my torn rotator cuff, I cannot afford to take a swim.
