evening hike- escape the noise- ogden coldwater canyon - November 16, 2026

November. Nice Fall hike. The Major Flag is a 150-by 78 ft American Flag that will be in Coldwater Canyon for Veterans Week starting approximately Nov. 7. The flag typically flies for approximately 2 weeks surrounding Veteran's Day to honor former North Ogden Mayor Major Brent Taylor who was killed in 2018. This is a busy hike with lots of people hiking to see the flag. Monday, Nov 16 at 4 pm. (Weather dependent). Meet at the 2750 Trail head in North Ogden. This is one of Ogden's most iconic November hikes. It is approximately 3 miles. Takes about 2 hours to do the whole loop. 1,170 ft elevation gain. If the weather is warm, we can make ice cream on our hike. Dog friendly. Yes. Keep Dogs on the leash as we expect a lot of hikers. Kid Friendly. Yes. Paved parking and restrooms at the parking lot. Slow to moderate pace.
