grandeur peak east day hike - October 10, 2026

The Grandeur Peak East Trail begins at the upper parking lot for the Church Fork picnic area and goes to the summit of Grandeur Peak. From Mill Creek Canyon Rd, follow the road through the picnic area for a short distance to the trailhead. When the gate is closed, visitors must park on Mill Creek Canyon Road and walk into the picnic area to access the trail. The trail becomes rocky the closer you get to the summit. This trail is not recommended as a winter hiking option due to its proximity to avalanche terrain and steep, ice- and snow-covered sections of trail.
