day hike to emerald lake/timpanogos basin - October 17, 2026
Want to take advantage of the last bit of fall foliage with some beautiful snow at the top! Weather is supposed to be nice before more snow rolls in next week. Plan is to hike up to the basin area and enjoy a rest and snack, hopefully with some others! If some would like to tag the peak that's fine but I will not be doing so. This is a lovely trail, just long and with a steady incline throughout, and stunning the whole way through.
Bring 10 Es, warm clothes, as well as spikes and/or poles for any snowy/icy sections. You need a recreation pass to park at the Timpooneke trailhead, so please bring one if you have it and we can organize carpooling prior to driving up American Fork Canyon. I'd expect minimum 6 hours round trip with a group. Text me to let me know you're coming along.
