day hike - black mt west peak via avenues, slc - October 4, 2026
We plan to hike to Black Mountain West Peak (8061 ft) via Avenues in SLC. I have hiked this route close to the summit but did not go to the summit. Approximately 9-10 miles RT with 3000 ft gain. There are steep sections. There is a trail all the way. But the trail may not be very clear for the last half mile to the summit. Please bring 10 essentials. Please email before Friday, 6 pm, Oct 2, for the meeting place and time. Registration is required. Registration priority will be given to WMC members. Registrants will receive more detailed info. Limit 8.
