day hike- kokanee salmon run at causey reservoir and fall colors - September 25, 2026

Every fall, the kokanee salmon at Causey Reservoir turn a brilliant crimson red as they return to spawn - one of the few places in Utah you can see this happen up close. Add in the changing leaves along the trail, and it's one of the prettiest hikes of the season. Join the Northern Wasatch Ski & Social Club for a hike out to the reservoir to watch the spawn and take in the fall colors.
