This was an easy kayak trip. There were about 13 boats including a windsurfer board and a SUP board and one dual kayak. We made our way around Stansbury Lake counter clockwise and portaged over the causeway (well most of us) to make it full circle. The weather was great and the water was smooth. After the end, about five craft (including the windsurfer board, SUP board and the double kayak) checked out the Mill Pond which was just across the road. This was a slow, lazy paddle, where everyone took it pretty easy. And after everyone was finally packed up and gone, and it was fairly dark, Bekka Stone showed up on her Stand Up Paddle board. Bekka, of UtahPaddleSurfing.com, came paddling up after a hard day at work, a little nap, and, not having brought the directions, a little trip through a construction zone and the weeds to launch her SUP board. Bekka, dressed for the cool night, continued on a moonlight paddle on Stansbury Lake. There are some photos at http://drop.io/WMCKayak_Canoe_Stansbury_Lake for a while... (I don't know if the photos made it to WMC) |
