Trip Report: Alexander Basin/Gobblers/Bowman Loop Hike

We were 4 women and 4 men: Chris Frazier, Mary Settle, Dianne Budig & myself, Karen Perkins plus Jim Kucera, Dan Clark, Micheal Budig and Stanley Chiang[official trip photographer as usual]. The group was aimeable and very cohesive, meaning we had similar strides and actually stayed right together the entire distance! The steep hike to the top of Alexander Basin and Gobbler's Knob was rewarded with acres of flowers, and even more on the descent. We returned via Bowman Fork and found the cut-off going back to the basin, in part thanks to the serious, new sign recently posted at the junction. The groups stomping the recently cleared piece of trail was very appreciated, as the vegetation really wants to take this trail back, with the help of our recent rains.
