Trip Report: Evening Hike - South Deuel Creek - Centerville

Evening Hike - South Deuel Creek - Centerville

HIKE 07/02/2024 NTD

I was the only one on this hike but it was worth it. The hike is all in the shade at time of the day. Only few people on the trail. There are some cut down branches on the side of the trail. The trail is well maintained. The tail follows a creek that was raging with water and there are many miniature waterfalls all along the creek. It is like being in fairy tale world.
I lived in Centerville for 25 years and I frequently hiked Deuel Creek South and there is also a North Deuel Creek. Centerville is in Davis County about 20 min north from Salt Lake City.
After abut an hour of hiking you come to a place where there are 2 swings propped up high above on a big tree. Kids are looking for to swing after the hike. I stopped there as it was right 1 hour hike. The evening hikes I organize are about 2 hours round trip . Many may not know but at about 0.5 mile there is a fork and you can take the higher trail to come back but at the bottom you have to hike up to the parking area to get your car. I like this trail too because there is a different scenery than on the way up. I will organize this hike again perhaps next time some people will join.
