| Participants: Nathan, Eric, Dan, David, Matt, Trevor Ice Climbers of the Wasatch are feeling the pain this season, too. Despite record breaking temps and disappointment, we're finding ways to get after it and quite literally scraping by on our sharp pointy things. A few club members have been frequenting mixed climbing crags around the Wasatch to get a pump in, remembering that there's no such thing as poor rock with tools - only good choss. Notably, Eric put up his first lead on tools in Provo Canyon. Fortune would smile upon us for one fleeting weekend when a team of six hopeful ice junkies scouted up into the Uintas. Despite a record warm week, the November Wall was in climbable condition, if only barely! Top ropes were hung, the first laps of the season were had, and the team celebrated with snacks at The Notch pub in Kamas. Now with Mirror Lake Highway closed, you'll once again find us out there picking at kitty litter, (im)patiently waiting for winter to properly settle in... |
