| Snowshoe Reynolds Peak--Jan 15, 2025 Four intrepid snowshoers, Jim, Sally, Hong, and Irene hiked a loop over 9422' Reynolds Peak (via Mill D North / Dog Lake), following the normal safe winter route. We descended the east ridge and proceeded on a short ascent of Tom's Hill (~9080'). The tour continued down the ridge running directly south, passing the Mill D North SNOTEL station (8940'). After traveling this spectacular ridge and rapidly losing elevation, we turned east and descended down in the aspen forest (passing a moose), rejoining our trail and closing the loop. Although skiers were abundant (probably because the weather was so fine), we were the only snowshoers and the activity took approximately 7 hours to complete. |
