| Jim, Christine and Hong hiked above Red Pine Lakes with the goal of the summit of White Baldy. Christine was satisfied with getting to the ridgeline and elected to descend to the cirque to wait for us to return from the peak. We saw many people around the lower Red Pine Lake and distant hikers to the Pfeifferhorn; and enjoyed excellent wildflower displays. We saw marmots, red squirrels, chipmunks, pika and a weasel. We were glad that it was so cool up there while it was so hot in the valley we came from. |
