A combination of climbers and runners from the WMC converged for the weekend at The International Climbers Festival in Lander Wyoming. Held at Lander City Park, it's a bustling atmosphere of friendly folks all bound by a love of the mountains.

The running contingency of the trip included Kerry, Frank, and Joslin. On Saturday morning, the three of us set off from the Worthen Meadows campsite and completed a 16-mile loop. The temperatures were scorching but the trails were great. By the time we wrapped up in the mid-afternoon, only one thing could save us from total heat exhaustion: a hasty, refreshing plunge into the lake.

The climbing side of the house was made up by Nathan, Ajeeth, and Courtney. Taking advantage of the festival's educational offerings, Ajeeth found some exposure therapy at Wild Iris in a falling clinic, while Nathan learned tricks of the rebolting trade with the ASCA. Between the festival ongoings, some fun climbing was had in Sinks Canyon and up the Louise Lake loop road.

When the sun went down, the festival energy dialed all the way up. We migrated downtown for live music. A few of us looking to take the party to the next level ventured upstairs to a full-blown rave, complete with dazzling lights, trippy lasers, and the wildly entertaining beats of DJ Butterlord.
