The annual Antelope Island multi-sport campout is a great time to spend a couple days at one of the best state parks in the country. Club members come and go throughout the weekend, some staying both nights, some only a single night, and others just coming for a day of adventure.

Friday.
Our weekend kicked off Friday evening. Julie assembled a crew for an off-trail trek, navigating from the campsite up into the island's rugged, rocky hills. Afterward, everyone gathered around the campfire to unwind before calling it a night.

Saturday
I led a group of ten hikers up to the island's highest summit, Frary Peak, taking in expansive views of the Great Salt Lake throughout the day. Kerry guided a group of six runners on a 14-mile loop across the island. A few took time to check out the updated features and movie at the newly renovated visitor center. The day concluded back at the Bridger Bay campsite with a really fun lively group dinner and social. Once it got dark, Shawn set up an outdoor projector for a movie.

The final crew woke up Sunday morning, ate breakfast and made their way home. This campout is a great annual tradition that has been going for seventeen years. I highly recommend making it out next year!
