| Although the day was cloudy, the rain held off and our group of 9 (Kristy, Stephen, Paul, Max, Dea, Yijia, Keith, Eve and Geoff) was rewarded with great views on this scenic loop hike along the eastern boundary of Alta. We started from Albion Basin, hiked up to the campground and followed the road to the top of Supreme lift. From there, we made a short detour to bag Patrol Peak and check out the East Castle views. Then it was back down for the short hop up to Point Supreme and more expansive views of the area including Dry Fork and Sunset peak. We then followed the ridgeline to Catherine Pass where we could look down into Brighton ski area. We returned to Albion Basin via the Catherine Pass trail. This was a great day in the mountains with a lot of varied terrain for relatively moderate effort. We highly recommend this hike. |
