notch peak day hike - October 17, 2026

The WMC has been hiking to Notch Peak in the fall for more than 50 years. That's partly because there are fewer hunters in the House Range on the first weekend of the deer hunt than there are in the Wasatch, but it has a lot more going for it, including a slot canyon, an insane cliff, and a lovely bristlecone pine grove. On a clear day, it also has an unbeatable view of the West Desert. The hike is off trail with some scrambling, and there's a 3-hour drive each way (we'll get dinner in Delta).
